There's a risk of doing TOO much navel-gazing here, but this scene has been a few years in the making, and I suppose by now I've thought of so many ways in which it could go that whichever way it does will feel right and also not quite right...but that's how almost all of my OWN social interactions go, so the hell with it :P
Here, Gogo manages to break the ice by conversationally maneuvering from polite caution to a passive backhand, into a riposte, and parrying into a formal stance, all in the space of a few seconds. You know, like you do. But it's kinda working.
